Mobile Phone Unlocking
Forgotten or lost your phone’s passcode? DFI can help.
If your phone’s passcode is lost, forgotten, or unknown, we can assess specialist options for accessing it. We first establish the make, model, operating system, and exact software version, because those details determine what may be possible.
01
Establish which phone you have and its current state.
A forgotten passcode, a deceased owner’s device or an organization-held phone can each present a different access problem. We ask about the make, model, operating system and exact version if known, physical condition and whether the device is currently unlocked. Share what you already know; do not reset or update the phone simply to investigate those details.
02
Confirm the authority and the information you need.
We work with device owners, authorized organizations, estate representatives and counsel. We need to understand who can authorize the examination, what records are relevant and whether restrictions apply to personal accounts or other users’ information. Legal advice about entitlement to access remains with your adviser; physical possession alone does not settle every authority question.
03
Assess supported options without promising an unlock.
Specialist access capabilities depend on the particular hardware, software and security state. We assess whether a supported option exists and explain the known limits before recommending further work. An initial inquiry does not mean the device can be unlocked, and access to one data category does not establish that every application or deleted record will be available.
04
Consider existing authorized sources alongside the phone.
If you already have a backup, export or related account material, tell us about it. Such sources may help address your question, but their coverage and dates can differ from the phone itself. We distinguish a useful alternative source from a complete device acquisition and confirm any separate access or collection requirements.
05
Protect the available options while we assess.
Avoid repeated passcode guesses, resets, unapproved recovery software and changes to accounts or device settings. Describe any attempts already made and any urgent deadline. Contact DFI to agree device-specific handling, intake and a realistic next step before sending the phone or its credentials.
RELEVANT SOURCES
Start with what is available.
We help you identify which available sources can answer your question, within an authorized scope.
BEFORE WE BEGIN
Here is what helps us understand your matter.
- Tell us the make, model and software version if already known.
- Describe the current locked or unlocked state and any previous access attempts.
- Explain who authorizes the work and which information is needed.
- Contact DFI before resetting, updating or repeatedly guessing a passcode.
